Franny's fourth birthday celebration started a day early with a party at The Little Gym of Edina. There was an hour of coach-led fun in the gym including parachute games, hide-and-go-seek, dancing, and free play. Then it was to the party room for snacks and cake. Quinn, Lottie, Mim, Henry, Malcolm, Rohan, and Ruby came to celebrate. It was super fun and went by way too fast.
She woke up on the actual day to a Princess Peach happy birthday poster, Mom, Dad, & Henry singing "Happy Birthday To You," and presents from Mom, Dad, Grammy, & Poppy. After taking Henry to school, she had gymnastics, then just Fran & Dad went to the General Store for a birthday lunch of a cinnamon popover and strawberry ice cream. After she led me around the store for awhile, we went home for some iPad time before Fran set up shop in a new restaurant she opened in our living room. She decided the restaurant was named Stella. She'd gotten presents of a chef's outfit and play money, and I set up a bench for a counter with all our play food behind. I gave her my order and was instructed to take a seat while she prepared my food, served me, and took my money at the end.
She said several times throughout the day that, "It was my birthday, then I slept, then it was my birthday!" I always like having their parties on the actual day when possible, but she thought it was pretty cool that her birthday went on for two days.
She got to choose what to do for dinner, so we ended up at McDonald's (which she also calls Donald Duck's). Then home for some more birthday cake and singing. What a girl.
